Farhoudi Improves Iran's 200m Freestyle Swimming Record

TEHRAN, July 22 (Mehr News Agency) -- Babak Farhoudi Monday broke Iran's 200m freestyle swimming record in the world men's event in Barcelona, Spain.

The Iranian swimmer ranked first in the preliminary round.

   

Vahid Moradi, the president of Iran's Swimming, Diving, and Water Polo Federation, said Farhoudi swam the 200m distance in 02:01.03 minutes, breaking the country's record by 1.5 seconds.

    

He added three swimmers are representing Iran in the Barcelona-based competitions.
